We regularly perform risk analysis to identify areas for potential improvement to our EHS system.
EHS FACILITY STRATEGIES
Apeloa CDMO plans and implements EHS improvements at the facility level across its network. Apeloa CDMO has built wastewater treatment capabilities for as much as 50,000 metric tons of waste per day. We have also deployed Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTO) for the incineration of 30,000 m3/hour of gas waste. Wastewater from our facilities is incinerated in quantities as large as 75 metric tons per day. Our facilities are encouraged to always operate in a socially responsible manner in accordance with Apeloa values and per our EHS strategy.
EHS LAWS & REGULATIONS
Apeloa CDMO continually assesses its compliance with ISO14001:2015 and its environmental management program. This requires regular assessment of all manufacturing departments and the formulation of environmental control procedures accordingly. New construction projects require the conduct of an environmental impact assessment before starting to minimize environmental impact of the project. Under ISO45001, Apeloa CDMO will carry out regular analysis and disclosure of environmental data. All this assessment leads to data-driven improvement of environmental protection standards in compliance with environmental laws and regulations as well as the avoidance of hidden environmental dangers.
ENERGY STRATEGY
Cleaner production with reduced energy consumption has become the guiding principles for Apeloa CDMO. Monitoring development and manufacturing activities for energy and carbon use has allowed the company to promote new energy and water conservation initiatives and reduce overall energy consumption. Apeloa CDMO has also been conducting research on new wastewater treatment technologies that can help to reduce wastewater discharge and treat it more efficiently.
SAFETY
Apeloa CDMO has also pushed for compliance with ISO 45001 which is an Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) management system requirement. Apeloa CDMO employs a variety of approaches to protect workers against the harmful effects of any exposure through Personal Protective Units (PPUs) and isolation technologies. Apeloa also assesses new synthetic chemistry routes for high-risk steps or intermediates and plans new synthetic routes that avoid them entirely when possible. Through these practices, Apeloa CDMO has built a comprehensive EHS plan to protect its workers, facilities, and the environment.
